Atlanta named 2024's best city to celebrate Christmas in US by study
ATLANTA - If you're looking for the best city in the country to celebrate the holidays, look no further than Georgia.
A new study from WalletHub ranked Atlanta at the top of its list of the best cities for Christmas in 2024.
The study looked at factors like the number of Christmas tree farms, gift and toy shops, and affordable restaurants,
One factor that pushed the capital of the Peach State over the edge to No. 1 was the high number of bakeries and card shops per capita.
"Atlanta residents get very excited about Christmas, searching Google for terms relating to the holiday more frequently than people in most other cities," the researchers reported in the study.
Atlanta also scored high marks for generosity. According to the study, the city had the ninth-highest percentage of people who donate clothing to charity and the 13th most online donations per capita.
Following Atlanta on the list were Pittsburg in second place and Seattle in third.
If you're a major Scrooge, WalletHub suggests you head to North Las Vegas, Hialeah, Florida, and San Bernardino, California. Those three scored the lowest in the survey.
