A community is coming together to help one of their own and others.

In December when 8 inches of snow blanketed Kennesaw, Jennifer Lane was walking on a trail in the Legacy Park subdivision with her family when a tree limb fell, hitting her on the back and the head.

She suffered a severe spinal cord injury, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.

Monday, a Kennesaw business set up a bloodmobile in Lane's honor and for others who may need it.

"Giving blood is giving back to the community. There are so many people in need around here. Like our neighbor Jennifer Lane who was struck by the limb during the snow storm. It's important to give back," said resident Jan Murphy.

Lane is recovering at Shepard Center. Friends said she is expected to be home in early March.
