'Critical missing' 8-year-old girl found in Riverdale, mother charged, police say

Atlanta police have found an 8-year-old girl reported missing in Atlanta and have taken her mother into custody.

Officials issued a "critical missing" alert for 8-year-old Samaunee Mosley on Monday.

According to investigators, Mosley had been last known to be with her mother, 30-year-old Tychena Mosley, who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and was having a "mental episode."

Family members and officers were able to get in contact with Tychena by phone, but they say she seemed "confused, delusional, and paranoid."

In the phone call, officials say Samaunee could be heard crying.

After searching, police say they found Samaunee in Riverdale and that she appeared to be OK.

Officers arrested Tychena Mosley on a charge of second-degree cruelty to children.
