Multi-car crash involving Fulton County sheriff's deputy slows traffic on Downtown Connector
ATLANTA - A multi-vehicle crash on the Downtown Connector caused a significant backup of traffic late Tuesday afternoon.
What we know:
The Georgia State Patrol confirmed a Chevrolet Silverado made an improper lane change, sideswiping a commercial vehicle.
The Silverado then continued across multiple lanes of traffic, hitting a box truck in the rear passenger bumper.
The box truck overturned on its driver's side, blocking three right travel lanes. The truck driver was taken to the hospital.
SKYFOX 5 flew over the southbound lanes on I-75/85 before Langford Parkway at 4 p.m. A smashed Fulton County Sheriff's Office vehicle could be partially seen from under the overpass.
The office confirmed one of its deputies was "involved in an accident."
