Multi-car crash involving Fulton County sheriff's deputy slows traffic on Downtown Connector

A multi-vehicle crash on the Downtown Connector caused a significant backup of traffic late Tuesday afternoon.

What we know:

The Georgia State Patrol confirmed a Chevrolet Silverado made an improper lane change, sideswiping a commercial vehicle. 

The Silverado then continued across multiple lanes of traffic, hitting a box truck in the rear passenger bumper.

The box truck overturned on its driver's side, blocking three right travel lanes. The truck driver was taken to the hospital.

The office confirmed one of its deputies was "involved in an accident."
