Dunwoody police surprise drivers with gifts

The Dunwoody Police Department surprised quite a few drivers with Christmas gifts. The department partnered with Elevate City Church to give presents to drivers during a special "holiday traffic stop."

Drivers around Dunwoody were in for a treat this holiday season.

While the drivers were confused about why they were being stopped by police, the officers were working on a surprise that didn't involve tickets.

The Dunwoody Police Department partnered with Elevate City Church. While the officers stalled the unsuspecting drivers, church volunteers shopped inside a nearby Target, wrapped the gifts they bought and delivered them.

One man appeared to be moved to tears after telling the group about his four children.

Another shocked man asked the officers and volunteers why they chose him.

"We wanted to," they answered simply.

Dunwoody police said this was all part of "The Hope Project."
