Escapee from Atlanta Detention Center has been captured
ATLANTA - Authorities have captured a man who escaped from the Atlanta Detention Center.
28-year-old Corey Thomas Brady was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday and transported to the Fulton County Jail, according to police.
On Tuesday, an investigator from the Fugitive Unit was patrolling the area where escapee Corey Brady is known to frequent. The investigator recognized Brady walking near the intersection of James P. Brawley Dr. and Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy, according to police.
According to Crime Stoppers Atlanta, Brady was wanted on the charge of escape. He was originally arrested for having several outstanding warrants from other law enforcement agencies.
According to Atlanta police, Brady escaped from the Pretrial Detention Center at the jail at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, when he wasn't free to leave. Police said surveillance video revealed Brady made it to the sally port, which he climbed over, and then left on foot.
Investigators said Brady is known to use drugs, specifically heroin.
