Eshe Collins to be ceremonially sworn in as Atlanta's newest City Council member
ATLANTA - Atlanta's newest City Council member will be ceremonially sworn into office on Monday.

Collins won the position after defeating Nicole Evans Jones in a special election runoff in December. The seat became vacant when Keisha Waites stepped down in March 2024.
"I am excited. As you can see, I’m excited. I am real excited," Collins said after her previous swearing-in.
Speaking to FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor, Collins said the campaign trail connected her with hundreds of voters who have lots of pressing issues they want her to address.
"Affordability has been key, public safety is key, but also transit equity accessibility ensuring that communities that highly depend on transit and transportation are able to access all the things throughout the city," she said.
Collins had previously been an Atlanta Public Schools board member.
She'll now have be on the City Council's Public Safety Committee.
The reception and ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at Atlanta City Hall.
