The blaze broke out around midnight in the 2100 block of Glendale Road. Firefighters responded to the scene within minutes after a neighbor across the street called 911.

Responding firefighters said flames were shooting out of the corner of the home when they arrived, and the family that lived there was outside on the street.

Paramedics rushed a 4-year-old to Grady Memorial Hospital with what firefighters are calling second-degree burns. His mother rode in the ambulance with him. Red Cross officials told FOX 5 she suffered from smoke inhalation. They said the father later arrived at the hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation.  All three have been admitted.

A slightly-older child was also inside the home but wasn't hurt.

The Red Cross said it'll help make sure the family has a place to stay when they all get out of the hospital.

It didn't take long for firefighters to knock down the blaze.  They have an idea where the fire started, but are still investigating its cause.
