Freeze Warning for extreme northeast Georgia

It will be a cold night overnight into Saturday morning. Extreme northeast Georgia is even looking at a Freeze Warning overnight.

The FOX 5 Storm Team said the Freeze Warning is in effect for Gilmer, Fannin, Union, Lumpkin, Towns and White counties early Saturday morning from 2 to 10 a.m.

Temperatures there are expected to dip down below freezing, into the lower 30s.

Residents there should make sure their pets are in a warm, safe place. Also, any tender vegetation should be covered or brought inside.

Farmers will be taking action to protect any of their crops which may have budded early because of the milder winter.

For the rest of Georgia, Friday night will be very cold, with lows dropping into the upper 30s/lower 40s, before we see temperatures climb back to near 70 on Saturday under sunny skies.

Sunday looks beautiful, with highs in the mid-to-upper 70s.
