ATLANTA - Many cities and counties around metro Atlanta have opened warming centers to help residents affected by Tuesday and Wednesday's extremely cold weather and possible snow.
The winter storm has led to many Georgia schools and businesses temporarily closing and has officials preparing roads for hazardous conditions.

Here are some of the warming centers open around metro Atlanta:
City of Atlanta
Atlanta has opened three warming centers through Wednesday at 3 p.m. However, the city says that all of its warming centers are over capacity and cannot accept guests at this point.
- Central Park Recreation Center, 400 Merritts Avenue NE
- Selena S. Butler Park, 98 WM Holmes Borders Drive SE (Women and children only)
- Old Adamsville Recreation Center, 3404 Delmar Lane NW (Overflow location)
Transportation will be provided from the Gateway Center.

City of South Fulton
South Fulton will open warming centers from Tuesday through Friday at two locations from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Welcome All Park, 4255 Will Lee Road, South Fulton
- Burdett Park, 2945 Burdett Road, College Park
Cobb County
MUST Ministries has opened its warming center at 1297 Bells Ferry Road from Sunday through Saturday.
Visitors must report to the shelter by 8 p.m. to spend the night. You can find more information about pickup locations and bus vouchers on MUST Ministries' website.
DeKalb County
DeKalb County will open four warming centers for residents beginning on Sunday until further notice. The centers will be open 24 hours a day.
- Frontline Response International, 2585 Gresham Road
- Tobie Grant Recreation Center, 593 Parkdale Drive
- Mason Mill Recreation Center, 1340 McConnell Drive
- Exchange Recreation Center, 2771 Columbia Drive

Fulton County
Along with Atlanta and South Fulton's warming centers, there are three other shelters open in Fulton County.
- College Park Warming Station, 3737 College Street, College Park
- East Point City Hall: 2757 E Point St, East Point
- Fire Station 51 Chattahoochee Hills, 6615 Rico Road, Palmetto
- Etris-Darnell Community Center: 5285 Lakeside Drive, Union City
Gwinnett County
Gwinnett County has opened up warming stations for residents on Tuesday and Wednesday night.
The five shelters are available from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m.
- Buford Senior Center, 2755 Sawnee Avenue, Buford
- Shorty Howell Park Activity Building, 2750 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth
- Best Friend Park Gym, 6224 Jimmy Carter Boulevard, Norcross
- Centerville Senior Center, 3025 Bethany Church Road, Snellville
- Lawrenceville Senior Center, 225 Benson Street, Lawrenceville
Henry County
Henry County's warming center opened on Sunday and will remain open 24 hours a day until Thursday morning.
The warming center is located at Locust Grove Recreation Center, 10 Cleveland Street in Locust Grove.
