Masked gunmen shoot man, steal his electric bike on Atlanta road, police say
Man shot, robbed on e-bike in southwest Atlanta
Neighbors in southwest Atlanta are still in shock after a man was shot and robbed in their neighborhood early Monday morning. It happened on Hiawassee Drive and now police are looking for the people behind it.
ATLANTA - Atlanta police are searching for suspects connected to an armed robbery that sent a man to the hospital early Monday morning.
Officials say the robbery happened shortly before 6 a.m. on the 500 block of Hiawassee Drive SW.
"I have lived here for over 50 years and never has anything like this happened in the neighborhood," one neighbor told FOX 5.
Officers arriving at the scene found a man who had been shot once. Medics rushed the victim to a local hospital. Officials believe he will survive his injury.
"Very shocked and very concerned because I didn't know if it was a neighbor or if it was just somebody in the neighborhood," one neighbor said.
According to investigators, the man was riding an electric bike when two masked men in a sedan approached him. The men grabbed the victim's bike and backpack and then shot him, police say.

"It's pretty quiet, calm. Everybody looks out for everybody but nothing like this has happened before, so I think everybody is pretty concerned," one neighbor said.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or any potential suspects.
"The families here have been here for a good time, a few people have moved in. Some people have come back because their parents were here. Parents have gone on, but they have come back," the neighbor said.
