Homicide detectives investigate double shooting in southwest Atlanta
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police believe a fight led to a shooting which injured two men, one critically Friday night.
Officers were called out to Pope Street in southwest Atlanta a little before 10 p.m. after receiving a call of shots being fired. Atlanta police said officers arrived to find a man shot to his foot and thigh. Officers performed CPR before an ambulance was called in to take him to the hospital.
Police later were notified by Grady Memorial Hospital of a second victim who was driven to the hospital in a private vehicle. Police said that victim was in critical condition and rushed into surgery. Their condition was not immediately known as of late Friday evening.
Police called in their homicide unit because of the condition of the second victim to investigate the shooting. Investigators believe this started as a verbal dispute but were still working to gather details.
