Jimmy Carter White House Christmas ornament officially unveiled
PLAINS, Ga. - Former President Jimmy Carter has made history as the first living president to have a Christmas ornament displayed at the White House in his honor.

Unveiled by the White House Historical Association, the ornament pays tribute to Carter’s legacy with a unique design. Shaped like an anchor, it reflects his service in the U.S. Navy, while peanut flowers are incorporated to celebrate his Georgia roots.

Since 1981, the White House Christmas Ornament has been an annual tradition, with each year's design honoring a different U.S. president. This year’s edition stands out as a tribute to Carter’s contributions, both as a leader and a humanitarian.
Carter celebrated his 100th birthday on Oct. 1. He is now the longest living U.S. president. He has been in hospice care since February 2023.
