Armed hijacker crashes into two cars over I-285, leads police chase in Decatur, police say

DECATUR, Ga. - An alleged armed carjacker is facing a slew of charges in DeKalb County after leading a police chase in Decatur. Columbia Drive over I-285 in Decatur was blocked off by law enforcement Wednesday evening.
What we know:
DeKalb County police say the male driver of a stolen black SUV refused to pull over after the armed robbery.
The suspect ended up crashing into two cars at Columbia Drive and Exchange Trail, injuring four people who were rushed to the hospital.
SKYFOX 5 flew over the area Wednesday evening just before 6 p.m., where multiple law enforcement vehicles were blocking Columbia Drive. At least one tow truck was on the scene appearing to cart away one vehicle.
Police say the suspect then got out on foot and led a brief chase.
He was eventually caught in the 2900 block of Knollberry Lane. He faces charges for hijacking a motor vehicle, and various other traffic offenses. He will be held at the DeKalb County Jail.
