Mableton man charged with raping elderly woman after randomly entering her home

Cobb County police arrested a Mableton man after responding to a violent incident at a residence on Graywood Circle Friday afternoon.

On Dec. 13 at approximately 4:15 p.m., uniformed patrol officers arrived at the scene following a 911 call. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect and the injured victim inside the garage of the home. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Ahmad Rucker of Mableton, was taken into custody without significant incident.

The victim, who told authorities she did not know the suspect, reported that he randomly entered the house. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Following an investigation by the Cobb County Police Major Crimes Unit, Rucker was charged with multiple felonies, including:

  • Burglary (1st Degree)
  • Battery Visible Harm (x4)
  • Aggravated Battery of an Elder Person
  • Rape
  • Aggravated Sodomy (x2)
  • Elder Abuse
  • False Imprisonment
  • Cruelty to Children (2nd Degree)

Rucker is currently being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
