Man dies after shot inside Forest Park apartment
FOREST PARK, Ga. - Detectives are investigating after someone was shot and killed at a Forest Park apartment complex Tuesday morning.
The shooting happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. in the 4200 block of Jonesboro Road.
Responding officers found Darrell Johnson inside an upstairs unit, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he passed away a short time later.
Forest Park Police spokesman Kelli Flanigan tells FOX 5, "Our victim, there was a knock at the door. He opened it. He was shot at least one time. "
No motive is known, and the gunman remains at large.
"Witnesses saw a black male wearing dark clothing and possibly a scarf, described as being shorter than 5-feet-11-inches, leaving the scene," Flanigan said.
