Man wanted for organized retail crimes across metro Atlanta, deputies say

Cherokee County deputies are asking for help finding a suspect they say is wanted for several retail crime incidents around metro Atlanta.

Deputies have been searching for 50-year-old George Frank Mayo for over a year.

What we know:

According to investigators, Mayo has warrants out for his arrest from Cherokee, Cook, Gwinnett, Douglas, Forsyth, Hall, Fulton, and DeKalb counties in Georgia, as well as Louisiana and New Jersey.

He's described as being 6-feet tall with a weight of around 210 pounds. He has tattoos on both arms, his chest, and back, as well as a scar on his arm.

Authorities say he has a history of obstructing law enforcement and a history of violence.

What we don't know:

The last time Mayo was seen was on Oct. 6, 2023 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, when he ran from law enforcement.

Since then, investigators have not made any contact with the wanted man and do not know where he fled to.
