Many Tybee Island eateries switch from plastic to paper cutlery, straws
TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - An eco-friendly change has come to one of Georgia’s most popular vacation spots.
A majority of area restaurants on Tybee Island have ditched plastic straws and plastic serving ware in favor of paper.
WSAV.com reported eateries are now using metal serving ware, reducing the amount of plastic trash that ends up on the beach an in the oceans.
Area environmental groups spent the weekend visiting the restaurants and applauding the change.
