Atlanta's Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has made changes to her planned development of a section of downtown known as "The Gulch."

The area is between Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the federal courthouse.

The developer, CIM, plans an approximately $2 billion mixed-use project of housing, hotels, office space, and entertainment.

But the project has received pushback.

Critics say the amount of public dollars going to a private company is too high.

Mayor Bottoms responded by trimming the public commitment, but for nearly 100 citizens who showed up at City Hall on Monday, that's not enough.

"They have improved it, but it's still a massively expensive worst deal ever," Julian Bene said.

City sources say Bottoms has yet to secure the required eight votes from the Atlanta City Council that she needs for passage.
