New Year babies: Meet the first metro Atlanta babies born in 2025

While the rest of the world was ringing in the new year, some couples in metro Atlanta were welcoming a new addition to their family.

Take a look at some of the New Year's babies born in Georgia hospitals below.

The first bundle of joy was delivered at Emory Johns Creek Hospital just seven minutes after the start of the new year. Baby Cole weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces.

Baby Cole (Emory Healthcare)

Mom Jean and dad Patrick say Cole was born a little earlier than expected, but they are excited to welcome their third child to the family.

Baby Adonis (Emory Healthcare)

A short time later at 12:23 a.m., baby Adonis made his big debut at Emory Decatur Hospital. He weighs 7 pounds and is the first baby for mom Athena and dad Daniel. The 

Hallie Mathi and parents Ross and Lauren Mathis (Wellstar)

At Wellstar Kennestone Media Center, Ross and Lauren Mathis welcomed Hallie to the world at 1:11 a.m. She weighs 7 pounds, 15.5 ounces. 

 Westley Greenewald and his parents, Kayla and Stephen Greenewald (Northeast Georgia Health System)

Kayla and Stephen Greenewald got a special surprise at NGMC Braselton at 2 a.m. with the birth of their son Westley. The hospital says the 7-pound-11-ounce baby is already making his parents beam with pride.

In Douglasville, Tyra Crosby and Fabian Taplin Jr. were able to say their first hellos to their daughter Ja’Lonnie Jorjiana Taplin. She made her grand entrance at 3:35 a.m. and weighed 6 pounds, 8.8 ounces.

Baby Sloan (Emory Healthcare)

Baby girl Sloan made her debut at 4:32 a.m. at Emory University Hospital Midtown in Atlanta. She weight7 pounds, 8 ounces. Mom Allyson and dad Bryan say their first baby arrived a few days earlier than expected and can't wait to celebrate every New Year's Eve with a big countdown to her birthday.

Baby Lily and her parents, Zach and Abigail Clayton (Piedmont Healthcare)

Zach and Abigail Clayton had their special delivery at Piedmont Athens Regional at 4:33 a.m. The hospital shared a photo of the 7-pound baby Lily wearing her own New Year's party hat.

Antonia Aponte-Osorio and her parents, Valentina Osorio and Sebastian Aponte (Wellstar)

At Wellstar North Fulton Medical Center, Valentina Osorio and Sebastian Aponte welcomed Antonia Aponte-Osorio at 5:37 a.m. She weighed 7 pounds, 15.3 ounces.

Zander Richard Smith and parents Caleb and Kayla Smith (Wellstar)

Wellstar North Fulton Medical Center's first boy, Zander Richard Smith, was born at 9:27 a.m. to proud parents, Caleb and Kayla Smith. He weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces.

Genesis Murry (Wellstar)

Genesis Murry lived up to her name by being the first baby born at Wellstar Cobb Medical Center. Parents Adrian Evans and Lee Murry will be very happy with their 7-pound-7-ounce little girl.
