Pilot walks away from Hall County plane crash
HALL COUNTY, Ga. - A very lucky pilot was able to walk away from a plane crash Friday afternoon in Hall County, according to fire officials.
Hall County Fire Service said the plane crashed in the 3200 block of Athens Highway just before 4 p.m. The pilot suffered only minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The 1968 Piper PA-28 Cherokee was reportedly traveling from Jacksonville to Gainesville at the time.
The plane is registered out of Jacksonville, Florida, according to FAA records.
The FAA is investigating the crash.
