Police searching for suspected gunman in deadly Edgewood Avenue shooting

Atlanta police are asking the public for help identifying a suspect in the deadly shooting of a man on Edgewood Avenue.

Officials say the shooting happened at around 2 a.m. on Dec. 7, 2024 on the 400 block of Edgewood Avenue, close to the historic Sweet Auburn Market and The King Center.

When officers got to the scene, they found an unresponsive 30-year-old man who appeared to have a gunshot wound.

Medics rushed the man to a local hospital in critical condition. He was not able to survive his injuries.

While authorities have not released the name of the victim or what led up to the shooting, investigators released photos of a person they believe is the gunman in the shooting on Friday.

 According to officials, the unidentified suspect was known to hang out around the Edgewood Avenue area.
