Atlanta radio host and comedian Rickey Smiley has some big news.

On the Smitty and Dee Show, Smiley said he recently learned he has 5-year-old twin daughters.

According to Smiley, he got a phone call from his ex-girlfriend, who told him that she had learned through court proceedings that the girls were Smiley's children and not another man's.

Smiley was no stranger to the girls. He told the podcast hosts he had known the twins their whole lives. They had been coming over to play with his grandson.

"I just thought, you know, since I was older, that … I had no idea because I haven't had no kids since Malik," he said.

The surprise has brought new joy to Smiley's life since the sudden death of his son Brandon.

"That's the first time I saw the sun again. During that dark hour, the sun came back out," he said.

He said he was able to celebrate their birthdays as their father for the first time.

"I went into their house as their father," he said.

Smiley says he's been very grateful for the support from the community after sharing the news.
