Rockdale County mother wanted for murder, child cruelty
ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. - Rockdale County deputies are searching for a 23-year-old mother charged with murdering her own child.
What we know:
On Jan. 8, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a person not breathing.
When they got to the scene, they realized the victim was a one-year-old. After attempts to resuscitate the toddler, the child was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The child's mother, identified as 23-year-old Gloria Wright, cannot be found. She is now wanted for felony murder in the first degree and cruelty to children in the first degree, also a felony.
What we don't know:
Deputies have not revealed what caused the child to stop breathing and have not detailed how they believe the mother was involved.
