If you know Deputy Kirk Davis from the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department, you know that he's a big guy with an even bigger heart. He's known for doing whatever he can to make sure someone's day is better if they encounter him, like buying food for someone who's hungry or giving a stuffed animal to a scared little kid. He recently received a huge donation of stuffed animals and we have no doubt that he'll put every one of them to good use!

“I was not aware of any of Davis’ kind gestures until yesterday when he happened to bring the stuffed animals to the office to hand out to his co-workers in our Field Operations roll call room,” said Deputy Shannon Volkodav, Public Information Officer for Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Davis joined their Civil Division in 2004 and became acquainted with the director of a local women and children’s shelter.  The director of the shelter contacts Deputy Davis when there’s been a surplus of stuffed animals and/or books.  Deputy Davis distributes them to any children that he encounters and last year Deputy Davis visited a local day care and handed out the stuffed animals with his daughter.

The Family Violence Unit accepts donations of stuffed animals to hand out to children. You can call them at 770-822-3150 if you're interested in donating.
