Smallest Church in America Burns Down

McINTOSH COUNTY, Ga. - America’s smallest church, Christ’s Chapel in Memory Park, burned down over the weekend.  

The tiny chapel, which stood in stark contrast to the mega-churches, drew thousands every week…but only a few at a time.

Located in McIntosh County, the chapel served as a place of meditation and rest for weary thousands traveling along Interstate 95.

The church’s local members are devastated by the loss and referred to the sanctuary as a ‘spiritual oasis.’

Investigators are looking at arson as a possible cause.

The state Fire Marshal's Office is set to visit the 55-year-old structure this Monday to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
