Strong winds, hail possible in North Georgia through tonight

ATLANTA - The FOX 5 Storm Team is monitoring the possibility of some severe weather across North Georgia today.

The greatest potential appears to be north of a line from Ringgold through Gainesville primarily late this afternoon and early this evening. That area has been put in into a slight risk for severe weather that will mainly come in the form of strong straight-line winds and large hail up to an inch in diameter.

An area from Rome through Atlanta and northward is under a marginal risk of severe weather with lightning, brief heavy downpours and gusty winds being the main threat.
