Surveillance video released in Dunwoody home invasion; suspects sought
DUNWOODY, Ga. - Police have released surveillance video showing the terrifying moments after two armed suspects entered a Dunwoody home and brutally attacked the home’s owner.
Police say the security video was recorded inside the home on November 9th, when the incident occurred at the Dunwoody Glen Apartments on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.
The men—armed with a gun, a knife and a metal pipe—reportedly snuck into the residence through an unlocked window while the victim was walking her children to the bus stop. When she returned home, the suspects attacked her, punching her in the face and striking her in the head with a handgun. The men tackled the victim as they demanded money from her, police said. The victim was able to fight off her attackers and escape.
The suspects, who removed a large safe containing the victim’s valuables, fled the scene, exiting through the same window.
Suspect 1 is described as a male, between the ages of 17 and 25, about 6’ tall. He has a thin build and was last seen wearing sweat pants with a star pattern below the knee, a long-sleeve sweat shirt, grey mask, gloves and boots.
