Suspect charged with New Year's Day double homicide in Lilburn, police say

Officials say at around 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 3, officers performed a welfare check at a home in Lilburn at the request of a person from out of state.
That check led to a missing persons investigation, which then turned into a possible homicide case the next day.
After working through the night following leads, officers say they found two separate crime scenes with two bodies in Gwinnett County on Tuesday.
Investigators arrested a suspect around 30 miles from Lilburn. The unidentified suspect is charged with murder and remains in custody at the Gwinnett County Jail.
Authorities have shared few details about the nature of the investigation other than to say that the incident was "domestic in nature" and there was no threat to the public. The identities of the victims have not been released.
