'The Walking Dead' fans invade Atlanta
ATLANTA - Fans from all over the world are getting up close and personal with The Walking Dead stars in Atlanta this weekend. The annual "Walker Stalker" convention invaded the Georgia World Congress Center.
More than a thousand fans packed a ballroom Saturday to see a star panel discussion featuring Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Josh McDermitt (Eugene), Michael Cudlitz (Abraham) and others. Cudlitz's character was killed in the season seven premiere.
Sunday's star panel featured stars Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Norman Reedus (Daryl). Fans packed the hall to hear the two discuss how they were dealing with another character death this season, Glenn played by actor Steven Yeun.
One TWD fan from Montreal became emotional during the fan question and answer session. Stars Lincoln and Reedus left the stage to greet her and give her a hug.
In the Walker Stalker exhibit hall, fans lined up for hours to meet their favorite stars and get a souvenir photo with them.
Walker Stalker events are held across the country every year. In 2017 they travel to London. There's even a Walker Stalker cruise set for February.
