Three Barrow County men arrested on child pornography charges
BARROW COUNTY, Ga. - Three men in Barrow County were arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography, according to a news release from the Barrow County Sheriff's Office. The arrests came after authorities received cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
David Steeley, Jason Bramlett and Jeffrey Yancey face a number of child pornography-related charges.
Leading up to the arrests, search warrants were executed at the men’s homes and on their electronics, the release said.
Steeley had been out on bond from Hall County on child molestation charges. A condition of his bond was that he was to not have contact with minor children; however, deputies found one child at the residence upon execution of the search warrant.
On March 30, Steeley was arrested and charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of children and 16 counts of criminal attempt to commit sexual exploitation of children. The charges stem from videos he had of minors engaging in sex acts and for using the internet to exploit children. He remains in jail at the Barrow County Detention Center.
That same day, Jason Eric Bramlett was arrested and charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation of children. The charges stem from images he had dating back to 2013 and distributing illegal images to the internet. Bramlett has since bonded out of the Barrow County Detention Center.
On April 18, Yancey was arrested and charged with 15 counts of sexual exploitation of children. The charges stem from illegal images and video he had and distributed. Yancey was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, three counts of possession of a dangerous drug, and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
The cases are still under investigation. More charges may be forthcoming.
