Two people taken into custody after Cobb County SWAT standoff
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Marietta police detained two people after a SWAT standoff Thursday morning at a Cobb County apartment complex.
Investigators told FOX 5 just after midnight Thursday, a man was shot on Favor Road near Windy Hill. Paramedics rushed the victim to the hospital, where doctors are treating him for a collapsed lung, according to police.
Officers tracked who they thought were the suspected gunmen to the Brix on Beech apartment complex. A SWAT team responded to the complex, which is located in between Sandhill and South Cobb Drive across the street from Chattahoochee Tech Marietta campus.
Police said officers convinced two people to peacefully surrender. Police questioned them to see if investigators could link them to the shooting, but police later told FOX 5 they believe the two were not involved.
