Atlanta United reschedules 3 games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium
ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta United has rescheduled three MLS matches at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which had to push back its opening because of issues with the retractable roof.
The expansion team will play the first regular-season professional sporting event at the $1.6 billion stadium on Sept. 10 against FC Dallas. The match, originally set for Sept. 9, was pushed back one day to be televised nationally on FS1.
Two other games originally set for August were also rescheduled. Atlanta will host LA Galaxy on Sept. 20 and fellow expansion team Minnesota United on Oct. 3.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium's projected opening has been pushed back three times because of the complexity of the eight-panel retractable roof. Atlanta United is playing the first part of its debut season at Georgia Tech's Bobby Dodd Stadium.
