Team of the Week: Forsyth Central Bulldogs

Frank Hepler accepted the Forsyth Central head coaching job the same year the Bulldogs moved up two classifications into Region 5-AAAAAAA. It took two-and-a-half seasons for Hepler's team to finally notch a region win, last week's nail biting 24-20 victory on the road at Raider Valley against North Forsyth.

Team of the Week: Pickens Dragons

October in Jasper is hard to beat. Cool, crisp air. Nearby apples- sweet, juicy, and ready for picking. But don't be fooled by that haze drifting over Dragon Stadium at Pickens High School, Chief Meteorologist David Chandley's air quality index still indicates an excellent reading in the North Georgia Mountains. That layer of smoke simply means the Dragons have scored another touchdown and the...

Team of the Week: Fellowship Christian Paladins

Fellowship Christian picked a good week to win High 5 Sports Team of the Week honors. The 5-0 Paladins have a bye week before facing St. Francis in their third region game of the season. Fellowship out-voted several other schools, including the Archer Tigers, on our Facebook poll to take home the award.

If you ask North Cobb Christian head coach Mark Hollars, he'll tell you it's the reason his football team is breaking new ground at the Kennesaw private school.

Team of the Week pep rally at Pope High School

Pope High School was selected to be our High 5 Sports Team of the Week, and Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken helped them celebrate at a special pep rally Thursday morning.

Team of the Week: Pope Greyhounds

It's tough to be a Pope Greyhound when you literally live in the shadows of traditional Cobb football powers Walton and Lassiter. New subdivisions go up, and most of the time those families seem to end up cheering for the Raiders or the Trojans on Friday nights. But the little brother wearing powder blue never gets down. He keeps plugging away. And this year he's in the playoffs for the first...
