Atlanta's Fetch Park teams with Canine Assistants for Puppy Bowl
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Over the course of many months, Good Day Atlanta viewers fell in love with Max, the golden retriever we fostered and helped teach to become a service animal. And it turns out, Max learned even more than we realized during his days at FOX 5 Atlanta — because now, he’s one heck of a sideline sports reporter!
Max will be showing off those skills at Atlanta’s own Puppy Bowl 2019, happening Saturday, February 2nd, at Fetch Park in the Old Fourth Ward. Fetch Park is Atlanta’s first full-service dog park and bar — featuring plenty of space for play and cooling stations for the dogs, and a full bar for the owners — and is teaming up with our friends at Canine Assistants for the fundraising event, which will spotlight future service dogs just like Max along with actual NFL players serving as “refs” for the big event.
All money raised will go to Canine Assistants, which teaches dogs to become service animals and places them with people with special needs across the country.
The Atlanta Puppy Bowl 2019 will feature 20 Canine Assistants pups, and the game will start at 1:00 p.m. And get this -- there will also be a puppy kissing booth featuring contestants from Noon to 4:00 p.m.! Fetch Park is located at 520 Daniel Street Southeast, in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood, and Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning there, getting a preview of this weekend’s big event!
