10-vehicle crash in Lawrenceville sends six to hospital

A 10-vehicle wreck sent six people to the hospital on Thursday and caused traffic delays, according to the Gwinnett County Fire Department.

The accident occurred on Highway 316 E/B between Buford Drive and Collins Hill Road in Lawrenceville. One of the vehicles involved was a Boars Head delivery truck.

There was a diesel fuel leak from the saddle tank on the truck and possible fluid leaks from the other vehicles involved, according to officials.

Paramedics assessed and transported a total of 6-patients, all with non-life threatening injuries.  All patients were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville for further evaluation and treatment.

The EB lanes of Highway 316 were closed due to the accident.  The roadway was reopened by police at 7:24 p.m.
