Family and police search for missing man
ATLANTA - A family is desperately seeking a loved one tonight who never arrived on Christmas.
John Cloud, 66, disappeared Christmas Eve after leaving his personal care home on Constitution Road in southeast Atlanta to walk to the Moreland supermarket less than a mile away.
Atlanta police told FOX 5 News that Cloud told the caregiver at his home he was going to meet a family member at the store less than a mile away from where he lived. His niece, Mia Cloud-Freeman, said her uncle never arrived at the store.
Now she is making it her personal mission to find him. Thursday afternoon, she and a friend stopped at the store to post fliers in prominent spots. They took time to speak to whoever would listen to their concerns.
No one answered at the personal care home where Cloud lives. Neighbors told FOX 5 police and canines searched the woods across the street, and yards of several homes in the area.
Mia Cloud-Freeman said she is not sure if any foul play could be involved in the disappearance of her uncle.
Another place she stopped by was at the Tire and Battery-Man Shop on Moreland Avenue where Cloud often did odd jobs.
Owner Zachary Smith said he hasn't seen Cloud since before Christmas last year, the last time he stopped by.
Cloud's family said he is lucid and clear-minded but does suffer from seizures and is without medication.
She said she's very concerned with the possibility of Cloud still being outside exposed to frigid winter temperatures.
Any one with any information on 66-year-old John Cloud to give them a call.
Mia Cloud-Freeman said she remains hopeful he's alright after seven weeks.
