Missing 72-year-old Flowery Branch missing; may be in 'mental distress'

Police in Flowery Branch are searching for a missing 72-year-old man last seen driving his pickup truck on Wednesday morning.

William "Billy" Obrien lives with dementia, according to the Flowery Branch Police Department.

Obrien last contacted his family around 7 a.m. on Wednesday and told them he was in mental distress, police say.

His silver 2016 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was spotted just before 11 a.m. in Grantville and around 1:50 p.m. in Douglasville. The truck has a Georgia license plate of HU32CI.

Anyone who sees Obrien or his pickup truck is asked to call 911 immediately.
