Police investigate four people shooting in NW Atlanta

Four people are in the hospital after a daylight shootout on Center Hill Avenue in Northwest Atlanta.

One man said he witnessed the ruckus.  He said it started when two women began arguing over children playing with a football. Atlanta Police said they were called to the 500 block to break up a fight in progress at 2:55 p.m. and left.  About an hour later, police said the altercation erupted with gunfire and several men had got involved.

Police told FOX 5 several men were shot and other suspects were armed. Witnesses described seeing semi-automatic weapons and hand guns. 

Police said all of the victims were conscious and alert when they left the scene.  They also removed at least 15 children from the two brick houses in question. Detectives are talking with several suspects tonight and will announce specific charges later.
