Suspect to appear in court after 4 people shot in Roswell

An alleged gunman accused of firing shots at a van full of people early Sunday morning in Roswell will appear before a judge Monday.

Investigators said 39-year-old Jacob Weaver got into an argument with a group of people inside the Moon Lounge Restaurant and Bar on Atlanta Street. Police said the suspect was kicked out of the bar after the argument.

"Apparently he became angry that he was kicked out and he sat in a car in the parking lot and waited for the victims to exit the establishment," said Officer Lisa Holland with Roswell Police.

One of the victims who did not want to give her name said she feared for her life as she left the hookah lounge.

"I told the owner of the bar, please do not make me go out there, I don't want to go out there," said the victim.  "I am scared he is going to shoot us."

The group left the hookah lounge at around four Sunday morning and that is when one of the victims said the suspect started following them to a parking lot on South Atlanta and King Streets.

"He followed us from the hookah bar and he kept trying to run us off the road," said one of the victims.   "If we sped up, he sped up, if we slowed down, he slowed down, so we just decided to pull over, maybe he would leave and he followed us into the parking lot and started shooting right away."

Police said there were seven people in the car, four were shot.

"I put my hands like this and I saw the bullet shoot through my hand and it was spraying blood everywhere," said the victim as she held up her hand.  She was shot in her ring finger on her left hand.

The injured were taken to North Fulton Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Weaver is charged with seven counts of aggravated assault, and one count of armed robbery.
