Celebrating #5StripesFriday in Atlanta
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - With just one more day until the MLS Cup, Atlanta United supporters all over the city showed their support for the team.
Students at Springdale Park Elementary School took part in "Atlanta United Day" by wearing jerseys, T-shirts, and scarves with the team's logo.
"It's fun to wear it to school," said Connor Kowan, a fifth-grade student.
The children posed for pictures with their classmates and talked about their predictions for the game.
"I think they're going to win because our team is better than theirs," Kowan explained.
The Five Stripes fever was not limited to just students, employees donned their Atlanta United gear at many companies. Even the animals at the Atlanta Humane Society and the Georgia Aquarium got in on the fun.
Atlanta United will host the Portland Timbers Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
MLS Cup coverage begins exclusively online with an hour-long pre-match show on the FOX 5 Atlanta Facebook page, at FOX5Atlanta.com, and the FOX 5 Atlanta app.
