The search for a missing Houston County man has come to a tragic end. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) confirmed his body was found in Montezuma in the area of the Flint River.

The GBI Medical Examiner's Officer conducted an autopsy after a male body was discovered by hunters on Jan. 1. The autopsy confirmed the identity of Skyler Black, who had been previously reported missing.

Black suffered from bipolar disorder and was not taking his medication, according to the Houston County Sheriff's missing persons report.

His cause of death has not been publicly reported.

This is an ongoing GBI investigation. Anyone with information regarding the case is encouraged to contact the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Americus at 229-931-2439 or the Macon County Sheriff’s Office in Oglethorpe at 478-472-6447.
