Police: Evans Teen Arrested after Stabbing Mother, Sister
EVANS, Ga. (AP) - An Evans teen has been arrested and accused of stabbing his mother and 17-year-old sister.
Capt. Andy Shedd of the Columbia County Sheriff's Office tells local media deputies responded Saturday afternoon to a stabbing in north Evans. While deputies were on their way to the scene, a deputy noticed a man matching the description of the suspect walking along the road. He was wearing blood-stained clothing.
The deputy detained the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Justin Tyler Butts.
Other deputies responded to the scene and found Butts' mother and 17-year-old sister, who had each been stabbed several times. They were taken to a hospital. Their current conditions are unclear.
Butts has been charged with aggravated assault with a knife. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
