A smoother ride is in store for DeKalb County drivers.

The county has begun work repaving 300 miles of roads.

It is the first paving project using funds from the one-cent Special Purpose Local Sales Tax SPLOST approved by voters in November.

The project kicked off at one of the most deteriorated roads in the county, West Lakeside Drive.
