2 teens injured in North Georgia hit-and-run crash, troopers searching for driver
WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. - The Georgia State Patrol is asking the public for help finding a hit-and-run driver who injured two teenagers in Whitfield County.
Officials say the crash happened on Cohutta Varnell Road shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 30.
According to investigators, two 16-year-olds were riding skateboards on the road when a black 2014 or 2015 Honda Accord that was traveling south ran into them.
After hitting both teens, the driver fled the scene.
One of the teens was released with minor injuries. The other was airlifted to Erlanger Chattanooga. Their condition is not known at this time.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash or driver to call the Georgia State Patrol's Post 5 at (706 )272-2200.
